Lily Maria 11 Month Photos | Northern Virginia Baby Photographer |
This beautiful baby happens to be my bestie’s from college! Lily Maria lights up everyone’s lives! She truly grabs the attention of everyone with her smiles, waves and beautiful big blue eyes. She is walking, eating big girl food, dressing cute, and absolutely loves to read her books.
I’ve had the honor of photographing her since she was a newborn. You can see her newborn session by clicking here, followed by her 6 month family photo session. If you are interested in booking me for a Northern Virginia Family, Newborn, or Baby Session, please see my services page to read more details.
Ji and Luke are expecting their baby girl at the end of February. Since it is their first baby, I wanted it to be extra special selecting a venue in Historic Old Town, Alexandria. We decided to do a Carlyle House maternity session since it provides a beautiful scene in the middle of winter. The Carlyle House is an eighteenth century historic house museum. John Carlyle, a successful merchant and a founder of Alexandria, completed his beautiful stone mansion in 1753. Today, Carlyle House is one of the nation’s finest examples of Georgian residential architecture.
Ji and Luke absolutely fit right in to this setting with their warm sweaters, lots of love, and nature’s romantic snowy details from a light dust in the morning. During this Carlyle House maternity session, they shared blood orange Italian soda and cannoli’s while snuggling up in a blanket. Luke spent a lot of time in NYC where he often stopped into a bakery with delicious cannoli’s. He told me it brought him back to the time Ji and he shared in NYC. Though originally meeting in Virginia, Ji and Luke spent time apart while he was in grad school in Pittsburgh and then in New York City. They got married, got pregnant, and then finally decided they should live in the same place full time together. Their love transcended states for about 4 years and now their love is being poured over to their precious little girl. I can’t wait to meet her!
I photographed this using my Contax 645, Portra 400, rated at 200. I chose this film stock because I really like the warmth it provides to the scene and subjects during this wintery season. Thanks to Photovision prints for beautiful scans and amazing turn around. The clients couldn’t be more happy. Ji wrote me this morning stating “Thank you SO much for these beautiful photos!! These are such great quality photos – and I love the colors. Seriously, I never thought of taking maternity photos, but I’m so glad I did! I’m sure we will show our little girl what mommy looked like when she was pregnant with her. Thank you again!”
